what is truth?

truth is what you believe,
truth is what you make it.
truth is individualized,
personalized
and rationalized into whatever you would have it.
this 'truth' even smells like a load of c*@*.
it is deceitful, dangerous, and flat out wrong.

people that tell you "well, that's great for you, but i don't believe in God" :)
and so i tell people "weeeeel, that's great for you, but even if i don't believe in the customers at my workplace, if i decide to take my pants off and dance around on the tables, when it's all said and done, some of these customers may have had an issue with my actions and feel the desire to notify me in way of a firing or so."
people then reply "well how can you not believe in the customers? they're right there, indeed, quite visible."
and i then retort "yes, you may have a point there, but understand that it is a bit difficult to acknowledge said customers when you've turned your back on them, shut your eyes to their works, and 'la la la'd them trying to call to you, now isn't it?"
and people stutter "well, that's not the same, it's not fare to-"
and i interject rudely "to deny the love and glory of our--yes, our--God, the same God that loves you-yes you--enough to have gone and died for YOU?
not fair to deny the beauty of our Creator, so emanate in our world, and convince others to do the same? the beauty so radiant and obvious in all creation, from the annoying as junk red fire ants, to the unique patterns in a peacock, to the breath-taking awe of a morning mountainscape, vibrant blue and green so perfect and untouched by humans and their bulldozers, to the dirt filled and grease glossed pores of your nose--while maybe a little more radiant because of it, none the less beautiful.
fair may not be one of your strongest arguments, so i think i would stick to 'um' and 'you see',
those seem to be your more convincing ones.
people: "well-"
me: "there you go, you've got it! there is no relative Truth,
only the absolute,
one almighty:
G O D

check it out sometime, eh?
wow, ADD stinks right now.
it's late, i'm tired, i have work tomorrow, i just got up out of bed to jot down the basic premise of a Good idea i had so i wouldn't forget it.

so of course, half way to total completion, i open up notepad to type up a outline of another Good idea i had during the other one (about meat, btw) and instead, here i am, posting it.

whatever, if i ever get around to finishing the original one, you guys will be the first to know!

hmm. You make me think. This is good.

However, your metaphor...I agree and I don't. First let me interject that I see myself as a Christian if you didn't know.
I find your metaphor unusual, and I think there are some holes in it. You've compared being in the dark to ignoring customers on the work sight. Christianity and the seeing and following of Christ cannot be as simple as looking up or turning around to face the customers in a shop. The blindness and darkness without Christ is much more encompassing than all that, making them much more dangerous than refusing to acknowledge the presence of customers. And even when you do accept Christ and "face the light", if you will, it is hard to distinguish any sort of calling. A better metaphor, perhaps, would be to say that God is like the light on the ceiling and there are so many customers at times that it's hard to see this light.
What I'm saying is, following our God can never, regrettably, be as simple as the presence of retail custumers.
