Happiness is a state of mind, as Texas is a state of the US. It is just as easy to transition from emo to bubbly as it is to transition from Houston to Louisiana.

Seriously, I’ve tried

It takes five hours, a Nintendo DS, and a bit more patience than I care to expense, what can I say, AD(H?)D is just something I do, me and a significant majority of the world population. Oh yea, did I mention a vehicle? Preferably one of the 'motorized' category. Life is a journey, not a destination. Don't get me wrong, it's just as possible to reach your destination with or without a car, I just personally prefer automated transport—I’m American! Call me paranoid, but word on the streets is, that without a car, the trip is much more difficult, long, and full of the kind of interesting people that influence the united states terror level (the pinnacle of public safety information, mind you) oh so often. Life in general, it seems, goes a bit smoother with this kind of aid—while not absolutely necessary, I'm just saying it comes in handy.

Like the ever popular war in Iraq: for you and I lounging on our couch, the last bits of Leanpocket falling out of your slightly agape lips as you stare for hours at your pretty box of information and sustenance, the prospect of sending a robot to poke at every pile of trash in every abandon parking lot seems a tad tedious to us, downright dumb to some. I would assure you that for the solders that didn't specifically choose Iraq—and those that did—the idea of improvised explosive devices are a tad daunting, the aid of such a robot is exactly what they need to take the hit for them, in the case that the garbage heap starts to beep and spark.

This is exactly why I go to Church every Sunday, Wednesday, Friday, and whenever I can. If you ever had the opportunity to thank the dude that threw himself on a grenade to save a bunch of complete strangers, would you? Even the emo-ist, jerkiest of lameos has to admit that a simple “thanks” would be more than cool. And while grenades probably suck to catch in the gut—what with scrambling your innards in a most uncomfortable fashion and all—I think that the 'cat of nine tails', thorns, flays, cleavers and various other improvised torture devices, (not to mention the Cross, also an untidy way to go, from what I hear) all totally pwn the 'nade in way of undesirably demises. Wouldn't a simple “hey, thanks bro” be acceptable? I think so. And though I’ve never personally experienced fire and brimstone, I can assure you, “hell on earth” is so completely watered down, any wrist cutting, emo educing trauma you suffer through in your little “hell on earth” substantially pales like diet ice cream next to the real deal. Not being insensitive, just realistic.

So why do I 'waste' like ten hours a week going to church? For the same reason our boys 'waste' their time having bots poke at a pile of crap; simply preventative measures. Odds are, I’ll die—sorry, but it happens—I’ll probably get made fun of, picked on, or have trouble deciding between buying food or buying medicine for my family. For these times and all times, God is with me, and God is more than willing to lend a hand, He's more than proved this in the past! (By the way, I'm not sure if many of you are aware, but the cat of nine tails is basically a whip. A whip with little sharp pieces of metal at the tips of it; hooked to just the right angle as to dig real deep into your flesh. People whine about tazers, but as far as non lethal goes, I think this one takes the proverbial cake, the cat doesn’t kill you, it's usually the gang green or significant blood loss that does the job!) Faith is a way of life (like WoW, but actually rewarding), God tells us to live by faith, but doesn’t keep from giving tangible evidence of His constant presence. I KNOW that I would be a lost and worthless soul, a wandering idiot watching everybody pass me by, if it were not for the saving grace of my Lord God. Without even my thumb out, confidant that as a blind man, I knew exactly where I was going. God knew better and totally gave me a lift, and let me tell you, this road we call life is much easer to travel down with some AC, lather seats, sweet tunes, and someone beside you who actually knows where to go. Is it possible to take life “your way”? Of course it is. But I don't know about you, I’ve “my way” and I know for a fact, nowhere was looming on the horizon, and I was headed at breakneck speed down that path of destruction. You wanna keep at “your way” of doing things? Have at it! As Morphius said: “I can only show you the door, it's up to you to walk through it”. I've picked my path, what's yours?
just a short piece that i came up with during my youth group session, typed late, late one school night. totally just found this verse while i was waiting for devart to upload the text and picture, it's 1 John 5:4 : For whatever is born of God overcomes the world; and this is the victory that has overcome the world--our faith.

anyways, from roughly where i live to louisiana is about 309 mi. so says this [link]

anyways, critiquing is totally cool (as at anytime), just please bear in mind that i finished this like ten minutes ago (freaking 2:00AM) and don't lie, the preview pic totally reeks of a whopping five minutes of effort tops.

uhhh...I feel out of place.

But seriously, you have a point with the whole WOW thing. (AAAGG I CANT THINK OF ANYTHING TO SAY) I guess we do owe everything to Him, because as far as todays america goes, where to busy watching NASCAR or some re-run of How-To-Build-A-Car show. When Jesus was nailed to some pieces of wood, we should have recognized that as holy. But some people even Christians, just sit there and say "oh, hi God, hows it going, what you want me to go somewhere? hold on, I need this and this and that" Jesus said to Peter and Andrew (i think) "Get up, and follow Me" and they did without question. I guess my whole point is that what happened between then and now, why cant we just get up and go? is it because of tv? WOW? Video Games? or just laziness? He died for us, we should say "The world needs Him, Im going to get up and tell them, so they can undo what they have done" Im listening to 89.3 KSBJ and they say "I will lift my eyes to the maker of the mountains I can climb" since we are not hanging on a steak of wood, we should praise Him.
